An opportunity to explore one of South Africa’s leading boys’ schools, view our magnificent educational and sporting facilities, find out about boarding, and meet our Staff and young Wynberg Men. Open Day Programme
15h00 – Gates open, please park on the Hawthornden Field (access from Lovers Walk). Prefects and their Grade 8 Buddies will welcome and assist visitors.
16h00 – Family presentation in the Clegg Hall.
17h00 – Boys will breakaway to venues in their primary school groups where they will be allocated a WBHS guide from their same school.
17h15 – Tours of the school, grounds & facilities, and the Boarding House.
18h15 – Tours should start finishing. Tea in the Fish Bowl for school tourists and tea at hostel for hostel tourists, where families can meet the WBHS Staff.
Applications for Admission in 2021
Admissions open for all ordinary public schools: 17 February 2020
Admissions close for all ordinary public schools: 17 March 2020
Applications for Grade 8, 9, 10, and 11 for 2021 must be made directly through the Admissions Office, either in person or via email.
Application Process
The closing date for all applications for Grade 8 in 2021 (both directly to Wynberg and via WCED online process) is 17 March 2020.
Please remember that as well as submitting the Wynberg Application form with supporting documents to the school, applicants are requested to complete the WCED online process as well at the following URL: https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za
- Application forms may be collected from the School and submitted in person to the Admissions Secretary.
- PDF application forms may be downloaded from the links below, submitted in person, or emailed to the Admissions Secretary: admissions@wbhs.org.za. (Please request an automated receipt of email.)
- Please ensure the following information is enclosed with applications submitted to WBHS:
- Application Form
- Birth Certificate with full ID Number and Photo
- Copy of last end of year report
- A handwritten letter from your son on why he would like to attend Wynberg.
- A letter from the parent on why you would like your son to attend Wynberg.
- Proof of residence.
