Friday 22 & Saturday 23 April 2022: After the Easter break, WBHS has the pleasure of welcoming Parel Vallei High School to our hockey Astros and rugby fields.

We welcome the men from Somerset West to Wynberg this weekend. We have the pleasure of playing Parel Vallei at hockey on Friday night as well as at rugby on Saturday morning. It is only the second time that Wynberg will be playing Parel Vallei in a full set of winter fixtures, the first being about 5 years ago, also here at home.
It is also wonderful to welcome Dave Schenck, Principal of Parel Vallei, back to his old school. Dave was part of the first Grade 8 cohort to start at the ‘new’ WBHS building in 1981, where we are currently housed. He matriculated in 1985 and played 1st XV Rugby with me. After starting his teaching career at Queens College, he returned to Wynberg as a teacher, taking a number of promotion positions at other schools before becoming head of Parel Vallei. Welcome back, Dave!
For the Wynberg teams, this is only our second winter fixture of the year, but a vital one as we prepare for the Grey Derby in two weeks’ time.
I trust that all the fixtures will be played in a great spirit.
