WBHS Win the Siyavula #1MillionMaths Competition for Physical Sciences

Wednesday 10 November 2021: WBHS took first place nationally in the Siyavula #1MillionMaths competition for Physical Sciences to claim the trophy and R15 000 worth of wireless drawing tablets to enhance the learning and teaching of Physical Sciences at WBHS.

This was achieved by our Grade 10, 11, and 12 students answering questions posed by Siyavula online in their drive toward a national target of 1 million questions in September 2021.

Siyavula reports:

It was the biggest #1MillionMaths challenge! In total, more than 2,6 million questions were completed on Siyavula during September, making this our most successful #1MillionMaths challenge ever. Thank you to all our teachers and schools who encouraged their learners to take part, and who entered their school or grade into the competition.

Wynberg’s top ten contributors were rewarded with MTN packages, with Jared Benn winning the national Grade 10 Final Showdown to earn himself a laptop.

Congratulations to all our student competitors, and to the Physical Science Department, for their efforts to ‘practice daily’ in pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence.

A #WynbergMedia article, with thanks to Messrs Larry Moser and Graham James.
