Friday 1 October 2021: The School Governing Body take great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Mr Deon Scheepers to the post of Headmaster effective 1 January 2022.
Mr Scheepers will join us from Grey College in Bloemfontein where he has served as Principal since 2013, and previously as a teacher at both Hilton College and Michaelhouse.
Holder of both MBA and M.Ed. qualifications he has a track record of strong transformational leadership with a passion for the pastoral welfare of his students and staff. His legacy at Grey College in developing a school culture of excellence across all spheres will mesh with Wynberg’s long-established four pillars – Academic, Service, Sport, and Culture.
Married with two teenage children, Mr Scheepers is a firm believer in the Japanese principle of “Kaizen”, or continuous improvement, with a principled, honest but diplomatic leadership style rooted in a value system that resonates with our Wynberg Way.
He is enthusiastic about embracing the challenges of raising and educating boys, preparing them for self-discovery while engaging with others and serving the community as good men and relevant citizens.
