WBHS Cricket 2nd XI at the Pearson Festival

Follow Wynberg Cricket on Facebook and Instagram

29 August – 1 September 24: WBHS 2nd XI took part in the Pearson Cricket Festival for the first time. Accompanied by Messrs Taahir Samaai and Coach Sabir Mallie, this was the perfect opportunity for the boys to escape Cape Town’s rain and storms and prepare for cricket in Term 4.

The purpose of the tour was clear to the players: facing as many balls and bowling as many balls in the middle was the main aim. The results against the opposition 1st XIs weren’t important. We needed middle practice and on that, we met our targets. We played five games in total,  winning three.

Charl van der Merwe (Head of Cricket) and Pearson High School were great hosts and we were well looked after throughout the Festival. I would like to thank everyone involved for making the tour an awesome experience.

Our boys had a tour to remember, on and off the field, and we look forward to returning to this Festival in the years ahead.
