Mandela Day: Help Us Help Others – Sandwich Making, 18 July 2022

Monday 18 July 2022, Mandela Day: An open invitation to our WBHS community to join the Wynberg Service Committee in the Clegg Hall for 67 minutes from 13h00 to make sandwiches for the night shelters and havens in our surrounding suburbs.

The coldest and wettest days of the Cape winter are upon us, and with the country reeling from load shedding, our Service team is prepping to support the essential work done by volunteer organisations helping those on the streets in our community. Mrs Natalie Karg (Vice-Principal of Culture & Service) and Ms Thabisa Ntandu (Head of Service), supported by the Wynberg Old Boys’ Union, have set up a distribution network to ensure the food gets to as many as possible people in need.

How to assist

  • Ask your friends and your businesses to donate loaves and spreads – a guideline of 20 jars of peanut butter/jam to every 67 loaves.
  • Give your time, join us in the Clegg Hall for 67 minutes on Monday to make sandwiches.

For more information, please email Mrs Natalie Karg: nkarg@wbhs.org.za

WBHS Service thanks all those who’ve already committed to making Monday a better day for others:
