Friday 3 and Saturday 4 September 2021: We welcome Rondebosch Boys’ High School to derby sport on the WBHS campus. The usual fixtures are curtailed as some players from both schools are undergoing precautionary isolation.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome players and coaches from one of our oldest rivals, Rondebosch Boys’ High School, back to our campus for hockey and rugby fixtures this weekend. After the frustration of having most of our winter sports programme cancelled, we are all keen to get out onto the field of play at last and test our skills again.
Although the number of teams is limited and there will be no spectators, the players fortunate enough to be participating will be as passionate and committed as the boys from both schools have always been.
We expect all the fixtures to be keenly contested. May the best teams on the day be victorious and good sportsmanship the order of this derby.
If the past 18 months have taught us one thing it is that participation and enjoyment are far more important than winning.
