Wynberg Boys’ High School invites applications from responsible, community-based individuals for the role of Senior Invigilator during the end-of-year NSC examination period. The Senior Invigilator will support the Chief Invigilator in ensuring the professional, fair, and secure administration of the examinations from October to December 2025.
Key Requirements:
- South African citizen and a resident of the local community.
- Aged between 23 and 65 years.
- National Senior Certificate (NSC/SC) or Matric qualification.
- Previous experience in an examination environment would be an advantage.
- Not employed by the WCED in a full-time or contract position.
- Not a relative or primary caregiver of a candidate writing the NSC examination.
- Must be a resident of the local community.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
- Excellent administrative, organisational, and communication skills.
- Must be punctual, professional, and able to remain attentive throughout long exam sessions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report to the Chief Invigilator each day.
- Assist the Chief Invigilator with the setup and management of examination venues.
- Manage a team of approximately 5-6 Community Invigilators.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive filing of all information and documentation to support the proper, successful implementation of the NSC examination.
- Ensure seating arrangements, materials, and resources comply with official guidelines.
- Enforce examination regulations and report any misconduct or irregularities to the Chief Invigilator and relevant authorities (WCED).
- Monitor candidates throughout the session to deter any form of academic dishonesty.
- Be present at all times during the examination—vigilant, attentive, and professional.
- Ensure all candidates receive the correct question paper and record the correct examination number on answer books.
- Prevent candidates from leaving the venue within the first hour of the session.
- Collect all answer scripts and ensure candidates sign the script control register.
- Submit accurate daily reports after each session.
- Manage and attend to any other ad hoc tasks as they may arise.
