School Governing Body: Finance – Debtors Administrator
Wynberg Boys’ High School is looking for a Debtors Administrator to manage the collection of school and hostel fees as well as all monies owed to the school for services rendered. This position is for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised, assertive, and confident Debtors Administrator.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric Certificate.
- Bookkeeping Diploma/certificate.
- Thorough knowledge of Pastel Accounting Software & familiarity with Jumping Fox.
- Intermediate book-keeping knowledge.
- 3 – 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in a school environment will be advantageous.
- Previous school employment and WCED submission experience will be advantageous.
- Extensive computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong financial management skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular).
KEY PERFORMANCE FIELDS: (NOT LIMITED TO)
- Full debtors’ collection function: School and music fees, sports tours, and tournament fees in line with school policies in terms of the collections process.
- Distribution of monthly statements to parents.
- Ensure regular follow-up on payment plan commitments with parents.
- Liaise with debt collection/recovery agencies regarding handovers.
- Monthly reports to the governing body around debtors, the collections process, and status.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of debtors and creditors on bank statements at least twice a week.
- Ensure accurate and timeous preparation and releasing of debit order runs (x3)
- Scholarships: Effectively and professionally manage the entire scholarship process,
- Effectively and professionally manage the entire rebate/exemption process around communication, applications, screening, review, and feedback in alignment with exemption policy and regulations.
- Ad hoc duties: additional tasks and duties as required from time to time in the Finance department.
