Career Opportunity: Afrikaans Educator, First Additional Language

EDUCATOR: AFRIKAANS FIRST ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE

Wynberg Boys’ High School invites an outstanding Afrikaans teacher to apply for this post, commencing 1 January 2025.

The requirements of the position are:

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a PGCE OR a B.Ed. with AFRIKAANS as a major.
  • Ability to teach AFRIKAANS FAL, Grades 8 – 12.
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching AFRIKAANS, across all grade levels, will be an advantage.
  • The ability to offer other subjects in the FET Phase will be an advantage.
  • Extramural duties – active participation will be a requirement. Please state the extramural activities that you can offer.
  • Applicants should be SACE registered or be able to show evidence that they have applied for registration.
  • Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education, and an interest and ability to integrate ICT and technology into teaching and learning is imperative. 
  • Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fully computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Experience in teaching online through Teams would be an advantage.
  • NSC AFRIKAANS marking experience would also be an advantage.
